Chickens and such.

Well my sister told me if we needed any help taking pictures she would be glad to help!!  So yesterday she asked when we wanted to take pic's of the chicks, so I told her we could do it after dinner!!
All we did was take pictures of the chicks and what types!

So here are some pics of the younger
chicks that we got from some neighbors' of ours!
This is a Buff Orpington.

I think this is a Black something!

This is its wing span!  Pretty small compared to the bigger chicks!

This is the wing span but just underneath the wing!!

I'm not sure what this one is!
Well my sister Alexis came out and wanted to put some of the chicks on my head and shoulders!  Two of them tried to peck my eye but I would always dodge it!
My sister putting the chicks on me.

The right chick (on my shoulder) kept on trying to peck my eye multiple times!!  So one time the same chick tried to peck my eye again but I closed my eye, so then the other chicks on my left shoulder suddenly swiched around and pecked my eye!!  So I put the chicks down and made sure my eye was alright and it was, thankfully!!

Now for the bigger chicks!
This is a Buff Orpington wing span!

This is a Golden Laced Wyendotte, I've always loved the gold around their necks!!

This girl is an Aracauna!  We gave them the name "poofy chicks" for the feathers on the cheeks!!

Me (Caleb) and my sister Alexis.

We have two girls that look exactly the same and are different from the others!
By that time Seth came out so Seth and I got a picture together holding chickens!

Well I hope y'all had a fun time looking at are pictures! Just to remind you the chickens will start to lay in late August or early September!
Till next time, God Bless!

Little Chicks And Big Chicks!!

Well the eight new chicks that we got are growing big and strong!  We moved them into the coop with the big chicks a couple days ago and put them in a old bunny cage we had.  Just two days ago we put them in the old fence (were the bigger chicks used to be) and let them fly around and stretch there wings!!  They are doing well!!

Well, that's six of them!

Scratching and digging for worms and bugs!!

Two of them looking at each other!!

Just in case y'all were wondering this is what the plastic mesh which makes the pen that the little chicks are now in!

Now the bigger chicks!

The big chicks moved up to the bigger feeder since they eat a little more than they used to!!

This is a Buff Orpington! I guess she's just sitten and relaxin!

These guys -I think- are dust bathing ( which means they lay down in the ground and shuffle the dirt on them, it helps to keep mites off their skin!!) !!

Well I hope y'all enjoyed the pic's and such!!
Till next time,
God Bless!
