New chickens!

We haven't had time to post recently because we are very busy. Sorry!  So..... we have decided to get the chickens!  We got 50 Black Australorps that were already laying.  We got them last week and we're getting about 2 dozen eggs a day!

The Black Australorps are all black and the ones that aren't are the older girls.  We also used a wagon as a chicken feeder, so it's a move around feeder!

Very black!!

The guys are always watching us.
And as always there was a chicken checking us out....
a older girl......
and a younger one!!

They have been very good chickens so far and we're glad we got them!
Till next time, God Bless!

Eggs

We have figured out what has been eating our girls.  It's probably a hawk.  Every now and then we see a Red-tailed hawk flyin' by!  We also figured out that when there was only about 30 girls in the coop that one night,  that they got freaked out and most of them were sleeping in the woods!   They have come back now but we are still seein' feather spots.
We're thinking of getting some pullets (ready to lay girls) some time soon to keep up with the demand!  Were praying about it.
Now you may be wondering what the post name is for.  So we'll be nice and tell ya'!!  Have you ever seen a miniature egg before?  We got one when Caleb was gatherin'!

Now, the egg on the left  is not a big egg, it is a normal sized one.

Usually the small egg is just egg white and just a dot for a yoke!

We have gotten several of this egg size before.

Hope ya'll enjoyed this post!
Till next time, God Bless!
